Hello design lovers!
I just wanted to have a quick catch up with you... You may have noticed that something changed here: there is a brand new website design. Do you like it?
The new website design - A Designer At Heart
What happened? Basically I realised it was time for a restyling. I set up this website two years ago and I had no idea what I was doing. I mean, I had never made a website before, didn't know anything about WordPress or blogging and I also didn't know precisely why I was doing it!
I just needed a space that was only mine, that's why I set it up. I didn't work much on it during the first year but it represented a dream from day one. Last year I decided to take it seriously and started to work more on the blog. It's incredible how many opportunities this choice has opened to me. They didn't happen overnight - I'm still doing A LOT of offline networking - but here I am a year later: a happy freelance.
That's why I realised that the old website was good as a blog but wasn't ready to support the interior design business side of my work (which at the moment is actually the most important part). So I wished goodbye to the old website pages (literally, I looked at every one of them and thanked them!) and made this new one. What do you think?
The new logo
I should mention that during this process I realised it was also time for a re-branding (or branding, I had never done it properly before!). And I also realised I needed help to do that!
Then, after reading every single book about brand identity that I found on my way, I decided to ask for professional help. And then I met Faye, through a Facebook group. Faye is a great graphic designer and branding teacher. We worked together and she helped me to understand what I wanted to achieve in my professional life.
Last but not least, she made my new logo which I absolutely love! I think it represents all I am :)
Little extra news: we worked together so well that Faye asked my help to refurbish her home office. So you can now see a snippet of the concept I made for her! Let me know what you think.
