INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECT FOR NIDO STUDENT. COMPLETED.
A Designer at Heart is in charge of the design of communal areas & bedrooms for a student accommodation in Berlin, Germany.
As for the challenges, dealing with an already existing building meant conducting site surveys to check the conditions of sockets, plumbing and equipment to then adapt it to our client’s requirements. This of course was especially important for the bedroom layouts. After completing this preliminary process for the entire student accommodation, we proceeded with designing the space using mainly customised furniture pieces to suit every space in the best way possible.
The Oak Studios project is a complete refurbishment of a building that used to be a Hotel and Restaurant. The project included a total of 68 rooms of 35 different types varying from 15 to 42 sqm, plus communal areas for Entrance, Reception, Back of House, TV Lounge & Games, Servery, and Study Room covering 165 sqm. For the concept of this project we took inspiration by Berlin’s art movements and architecture. From this we came up with an interior mixing Nido Standards and a colourful and fun style with pastel tones and a cosy atmosphere. For the study room we brought the back garden on the inside and obtained a Greenhouse effect that becomes a proper distinctive feature for the communal areas.
